News from Poland just in: The opening of the exhibition "Apocalipsis cum figuris", featuring, among others, works by Albrecht Dürer and yours truly, will be postponed to the end of June.
Well it's true to say that Andreas Köhn and I have been none too busy on our Apocalypse project lately, but let it be known that "Apocalypse- The Revelation Of John" is anything but dead. We keep receiving Emails from people who want to know where they can buy the book, teachers who want to use our material for their lessons and students who want to qoute our website for their thesis.
One particularly interesting mail we received a while ago came from Poland, from one Ryszard Rzad, curator of the Malbork Castle museum...
Mr Rzad told us that he was intrigued by our approach to the Revelation of John and could he use some of our images in the exhibition "Apocalipsis cum figuris", which shows visual representations of the Apocalypse through the centuries, including a 55 meter long painting by kashub artist Józef Chelmowski, 12 paintings by polish artist Andrzej Strumillo and 15 wood carvings by -wait for it- ALBRECHT DÜRER!
Obviously, we were more than flattered, and after some to-ing and fro-ing it is now set that from May 20th 2006 onward our stuff can be found hanging next to Mr Four-Horsemen-Of-The-Apocalypse's world famous wood carvings! If you find yourselves somewhere near Malbork, have a look!
As for the book, yes, we will definitely do it, but don't hold your breath. Both Andreas and I are far too busy with other things at the moment, so it will be at least another couple of years before anything will hit the shops. But fret not:
The Apocalypse will come!
